The 100 Reviews Project

For someone who overthinks a lot and has an inherent illness to be perfect, coming up with blog ideas has always been difficult. The inertia to sit down and write has been further complicated by the hundreds of ideas running through my anxious mind every passing day

Now that I have identified the problem (being confused about what to write about), the universe has somehow started to automatically suggest solutions. This particular suggestion came via Visakan Veerasamy, a prolific writer and a guiding light for my creative endeavours. I have been following him for quite sometime and this one came out of the blue while I started reading his book Introspect (which I highly recommend)

His idea is simple. To know what you want, just do 100 things.  It doesn’t matter what these things are but the emphasis here is on the doing and the 100 items. I love this. For someone who has always had a bias to know (instead of to do), this is terrific advice.

For the foreseeable future, I will write reviews of stuff that impact/influence me deeply. Stuff that blows my mind, body and soul. Books, movies, music, people, tools, insights, and anything under the sun that impresses me.

Why do I choose to do this?

  • This is the one of the 1st things that came to my mind when I thought about the 100 things I could do easily and also because of my brief history of writing good reviews. (Samples here – Propsoch, Our Weaning to Solids + Toddler Workshop Sessions, Our Homestay Experience)
  • Writing reviews I think are a great way of expressing gratitude
  • An analysis of things I review would also give a peek into my conditioning of 32 years; By analyzing things I choose to review, I hope I will get to understand what I like vs what I don’t, what I am attracted to do, and why I like something.
  • And finally, this will help readers to try out these experiences which can also help/impact them in other interesting ways.
